Hi, I'm Sammi, owner of Bark and Stride. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and over the years I've gained extensive hands-on experience caring for, walking and understanding dogs with all kinds of personalities, needs and behaviours. My approach is simple: I believe dogs should be allowed to be dogs. I work in natural environments wherever possible, giving dogs freedom to explore, sniff, investigate and enjoy their surroundings while building confidence and trust. Alongside dog walking, I offer one-to one training and behaviour support, helping owners understand why their dog behaves the way they do rather than simply trying to stop undesirable behaviour. This can include pulling on the lead, jumping up, barking, lunging, over-excitement and difficulties around other dogs and people. I particularly enjoy working with gundogs and high-energy breeds, helping them become well-balanced, happy family companions without relying on force or intimidation. Every dog is an individual, so I take the time to get to know the dog in front of me and tailor my approach accordingly. My aim is always to bring out the best in your dog while strengthening the relationship between you and your best friend. At Bark and Stride, it's about more than simply getting a dog out for a walk. It's about enrichment, connection, confidence and giving dogs the opportunity to thrive in a natural environment.
